{slider title="SEDATION RELATED TEACHING RESOURCE GRANT" open="false"}

The Dental Sedation Teachers Group would like to invite members to apply for a grant, of up to £3,000, to produce a sedation related teaching resource. The resource can be online, videos, computer assisted learning, traditional printed media or a new innovative idea. It should be related to clinical conscious sedation or anxiety management and be a useful teaching resource. Resources aimed at training or CPD for Sedation Teachers/local supervisors (i.e. train the trainer) will also be considered. Simple cannulation videos are unlikely to be accepted and priority will be given to innovative or sound educational theory based applications.

There may be multiple awards of smaller budget grants so applications of small medium and larger projects are welcome.

Final projects will be made available to DSTG members and DSTG will hold any copyright associated. Patients should not be used unless there is a clear indication of why this is necessary and how GDPR will be followed.

Applicants should write a protocol detailing:

The educational aims and objectives

Details of those people who will be involved

What currently is available and how this project will be useful

How will this project specifically benefit students/sedation teachers

How assessments (if used) will be quality assured (and be both reliable and valid)

How the finished project will be distributed and promoted

Timelines (up to 6 months)

Funding and budget management responsibilities.

Deadline: 28 February 2026
